Welcome! Thanks for visiting with me again this year. I won't spend time on the commonplace glass ornaments available at major thrift-type stores. Rather, I'm digging around the internet to find the most unique assortments of glass Christmas ornaments for this Christmas season. Good hunting! Charlotte Ogelsby
Holiday Fun. One of the moments I most cherish, is pulling out all the glass ornaments and recalling the memories each represents with family. In this column, I'll publish fun, boutique websites that celebrate something special about the holidays. To start with, let's enjoy some Christmas songs to really get us in the mood.

Blown Glass Ornaments

One of my favorite websites for glass ornaments is appropriately enough: glassornamentshop.com. I think of "vast array" without it being so much that it takes forever to wade through the junk. They do a nice job of balancing between choice and volume. There are a few lower-end options, a few high-end options, and then a broad range of glass Christmas ornaments for most people's budget.

Beyond machine-made glass, the majority of choices are blown glass ornaments with option made both in Europe as well as China. You can choose a few truly unique hand blown ornaments that cost a little more and are made in Poland, and then you can fill in the larger spaces with great tree decorating ideas from the made in China assortment.

The majority of Chinese-made glass options are Old World ornaments glass that many people have been collecting for generations. Choices range from animal ornaments like darling little squirrels and rabbits to creatures of the sea like "Shamu" and dolphins. They also have a great selection of glass Santa ornaments with new ones added every year.

Decorating with glass ornaments is always a lot of fun for me. The choices are endless, and this market is still a touch of old world luxury at an affordable price. If you stay with the jewel tones, your glass Christmas ornaments will always compliment one another, so you don't have to worry about the overall look. Just buy the individual ornaments you like, and you'll achieve both an overall design as well as individual uniqueness.
